Introduction
Do you know the facts about arthritis? Try this quiz to test your knowledge.
True or False
False. More than half of people affected by arthritis are under age 65 and many are under age 45. Rheumatoid arthritis can affect people of all ages, even children.
True. If the lining of the joint becomes inflamed, you may have rheumatoid arthritis. If the cushioning cartilage in the joint becomes damaged, you may have osteoarthritis or “wear and tear” arthritis.
False. Interventions to prevent or reduce arthritis-related pain include: gentle chiropractic manipulation, weight control, physical activity, massage therapy, herbs and supplements, hydrotherapy, acupuncture and acupressure, decreasing food sensitivities, diet therapy, prayer and spirituality, etc.
True. Post-traumatic arthritis can develop after an injury. This type of arthritis is similar to osteoarthritis and may develop years after a fracture or ligament injury.
True. Sudden onset is possible, but, generally, the pain develops gradually. A joint may become stiff and swollen, making it difficult to bend. Pain and swelling are worse in the morning after sleeping or after a period of inactivity. Pain also may increase after walking, stair climbing or kneeling.
False. Researchers are making progress in finding the underlying causes for the major types of arthritis.
True. However, it can occur in other joints, also. Arthritis occurs more in women than in men and usually after the age of 40-45.
False. Rheumatoid arthritis is not an inherited disease.
True. However, research is underway to develop techniques to replace or “grow” cartilage in areas where it has been worn away.
False. Regular exercise strengthens bones, increases muscle mass and reduces joint and muscle pain.

How Old is Your Spine?
Did you know that your spine may be “older” than you are? Depending on how you use or “abuse” your spine and what accidents or medical conditions you have had, your spine may be wearing out faster than the rest of your body. Answering these questions may help you understand the stresses that may be taking “years” off your spine, leading to spinal degeneration.
Answer the following questions and then send your responses to us. . . We will contact you with suggestions!
Do you repeatedly:
YES NO
___ ___ Hold your head to one side to cradle the telephone?
___ ___ Slouch when you’re reading or writing?
___ ___ Keep your legs straight when you’re bending or lifting?
___ ___ Twist when lifting something?
___ ___ Sleep on your stomach or on a poor mattress or a couch?
Have you ever:
YES NO
___ ___ Had a childhood fall or sports injury?
___ ___ Had a whiplash from an accident?
___ ___ Been knocked unconscious?
Have you ever been told you have:
YES NO
___ ___ Scoliosis (sideways curvature of the spine)?
___ ___ Spondylolisthesis (forward misalignment of one vertebra over another)?
___ ___ A hemivertebra (underdeveloped vertebra on one side)?
___ ___ Other back problems or spinal malformations?
Do you:
YES NO
___ ___ Work long hours without breaks?
___ ___ Let things “stress you out”?
___ ___ Eat fast/junk food?
___ ___ Skip exercising because you’re too busy?
The more times you answered yes, the more likely it is that your spine is degenerating.
Now it’s time to learn about your spine so you can maintain or improve its health.

We Love Our Clients!
Thank you for taking the time to read these reviews.
I would give 10 stars if I could.
"I would give 10 stars if I could. Dr. Rosenfeld is the consummate professional!
If you want to get the best chiropractic care available look no further. I must receive impeccable care/service for me to write a review. Dr. Rosenfeld will increase your quality of life and reduce your pain. This is all done in a professional manner and setting. The staff is just as professional as Dr. Rosenfeld which is extremely important to me! I have been to numerous Chiropractors and very rarely will I return for a second visit. My search took over 6 months to find the right Dr and care. And the office hours should accommodate anyone's schedule.
Thank you Dr. Rosenfeld. I'm so excited to have found you!"
Dr. Rosenfeld is a great teaching Doctor.
"I was in a car accident and had a back and neck injury. In addition, I had pain in my hip and tingling in my cheeks. A long time ago (before my accident) I had visited a physical therapist that hooked me up to electrical stimulation and put heat on me for weeks. Over time I got better. I found Dr. Rosenfeld through my PPO Blue Cross list of providers. The first couple of weeks were learning new habits and each time and each visit I have learned more of what I can do to maintain the relief that Dr. Rosenfeld has brought me. I am able to work without pain for days at a time and I know I can return to Dr. Rosenfeld's office and get support for continuing recovery. I am still working on permanent neck pain relief but my lower back, hip and cheek tingling are gone! Wonderful. Dr. Rosenfeld helps me and motivates me to keep coming in! Her office staff is completely supportive and knowledgeable too. Dr. Rosenfeld is a great teaching Doctor."
I've never quite felt that before any health practitioner that I can remember
"Just want say thank you for the extraordinary commitment I feel from you to my getting better. I've never quite felt that before any health practitioner that I can remember."
Overall my results have improved tremendously with spinal decompression therapy
"I have had been having spinal decompression therapy for the last month. I have had excellent results. I was having sciatica and neuropathy; after the first treatment the neuropathy was so much less! Dr Iris and the office staff are very professional, efficient and caring. Overall my results have improved tremendously with spinal decompression therapy. I would recommend Dr Rosenfeld to all patients with back problems, she listens and will work with you to improve your life."
Dr. Rosenfeld is a very loving and generous doctor.
"Dr. Rosenfeld is a very loving and generous doctor. I highly recommend her. She is always studying and learning new ways to help her clients. Dr. Rosenfeld has a very long list of techniques that she can offer to help. Dr. Rosenfeld is high energy and fun and an inspiration. I am grateful that my 19 yo son is her patient since I want him to meet motivated professionals."
Dr. Rosenfeld has given me lasting relief from pain
"In 1982 I was catapulted from a motorcycle causing whiplash, neck and low back injuries. Many years of an untreated condition and compression created much pain, discomfort and subluxation. After seeing another chiropractor for 15 years it was time for a change. During those 15 years I had many visits and physical therapy that gave me temporary pain relief and muscle toning and strenuously. Temporary relief. I was referred to Dr. Rosenfeld by Barbara Anderson who is a Rolfing therapist. Dr. Rosenfeld has given me lasting relief from pain and the ability to maintain a longer adjustment much and I have much gratitude and appreciation!"
I love coming into this office.
"I had tremendous pain in my lower back and neck. I could barely walk or even function normally before I came to see Dr. Rosenfeld. I had this condition on and off for years, but never to this degree that caused me to finally seek professional help. I was given Vicodin, Soma and Naproxin by a regular family physician. The medication only temporarily took away my pain. I never had any other treatment other than a physician who prescribed me these medications. One of my husband's friends spoke very highly of Dr. Rosenfeld so I called her. I have gotten great results!!! I am finally recovering from my back/neck injury. Dr. Rosenfeld and her entire staff have been extremely caring and helpful. I love coming into this office."
With Dr. Rosenfeld I felt comfortable that she would take care of me.
"I had a neck injury seven years ago and have continued to have periods of bad times. I recently had a knee replacement which threw my back and neck out to the point I could not walk. I lost my job, can't work and can't work out. I just felt down. I had a bad experience with a chiropractor a long time ago. With Dr. Rosenfeld I felt comfortable that she would take care of me. Within a couple of visits I could walk and the pain was not so terrible and now we are working on the neck to try and relax it. I also use the natural products as well as the exercises given to me by Dr. Rosenfeld to try to get the best results. When I feel better life is better and everyone and everything is better. I tell people to try chiropractor care because if they try it they will be surprised."
The results were truly outstanding after only a few weeks of treatment.
"I developed lower back pain following very light work in my garden! The condition had been underlying since a recent flight from New York. I had previously had a similar episode over 10 years ago. The back pain was preventing me from carrying out most of my daily living events. I needed immediate help on a Saturday morning and found Dr. Rosenfeld through a Google search on the internet. The results were truly outstanding after only a few weeks of treatment. I was well on the way to recovery assisted by a new "toolbox" of exercises provided by Dr. Rosenfeld. I am now fulfilling the majority of my daily living events - even cleaning my car. My goal is now to resume my jogging routine which my back condition has prevented me from doing."
Previously I have seen a GI and an Allergist, with no help.
"I first came into the office on April 2007. I had food and environmental allergies. The allergies were moderate and caused mental fog, fatigue, stomach cramps and IBS. Previously I have seen a GI and an allergist, with no help. Because of the treatments I received here, I am 85% recovered. Most of the foods which caused troubles do not currently cause any symptoms."
