Why Blood Test Analysis is Essential for Optimal Health
Wouldn’t you like to know where you stand in the big health picture? Blood tests are a good way to catch red flags early, before they become “pink flags”. Detailed computer analysis can help unveil trends before they manifest into full-blown problems.
Comprehensive testing beyond the typical blood panel can uncover a bigger health picture; ie, a typical blood test will not include testing for HgA1C (see explanation below for why this tells you more about your blood sugar regulation than your blood glucose level.) A typical blood panel also does not include CRP, a marker of inflammation that can be extremely helpful in assessing one’s overall health picture. A low TSH will reflect thyroid dysfunction, but a normal value does not necessarily reflect optimal function. Other thyroid hormones such as T3, T4, reverse T3 and others must be measured to get a clearer picture of the endocrine balance.
Nutritional supplement support recommendations can help establish a protocol for achieving optimal values.
Dr. Iris Rosenfeld utilizes a program called Functional Health Evaluation that will analyze your results in detail based on advanced algorithms, provide definitions and descriptions, and suggest the dietary, lifestyle and nutritional protocols best suited to individual needs based on unbiased lab values.

Take Glucose as an Example:
Many people with single low blood sugar readings are low on the day they are tested, but those levels can reach elevated levels on other days. In extreme cases, when people exhibit “reactive hypoglycemia”, blood sugar levels can fluctuate severely from day to day. This explains why a glucose reading can be normal even when there is dysfunction in the sugar-handling process.
A glucose reading on a typical blood lab test is a snapshot in time. It tells the person what the glucose level was in that exact moment. It is not an accurate picture of what blood glucose levels are over time. There is, however, a way to measure how the body handles sugar levels over time. This method of measurement is much more accurate than a single glucose reading, and the reason we can use it is because of a process called glycation. Glycation involves a protein binding to sugar, getting oxidized, and forming a compound that can be measured in the blood. This is what happens to the hemoglobin of the red blood cell (RBC). The hemoglobin protein molecule binds to sugar, gets oxidized, and forms a compound known as hemoglobin A1C, or HgA1C. Since the average life span of an RBC is 120 days, measuring the hemoglobin that has been bound to glucose and oxidized gives a pretty good picture of what the blood sugar levels have been doing over time. Monitoring these levels can be very helpful in determining the support protocols best suited for each individual.

I've never quite felt that before any health practitioner that I can remember
"Just want say thank you for the extraordinary commitment I feel from you to my getting better. I've never quite felt that before any health practitioner that I can remember."
She and her staff go out of their way to try to fit you in for an appointment even if they are very busy
"Dr. Iris has been treating several members of my family for over a year now and we highly recommend her. I have been having chronic neck and back pain for several years and feel so much better after every adjustment. I also appreciate that Dr. Iris will recommend and provide vitamins or natural treatments for other health issues. She and her staff go out of their way to try to fit you in for an appointment even if they are very busy. She is very patient-oriented and is a fun and caring person to be around."
I have had issues with headaches and back pain for many years.
"I have had issues with headaches and back pain for many years. In addition, I have had problems with general pain issues. I had been treated by two other chiropractors, a physical therapist and a medical doctor. I would get a bit better but then improvement stopped. I had heard of Dr. Rosenfeld so I decided to make an appointment. I have to honestly say that I have been feeling much better in a consistent manner. The headaches are now rare and my body just feels better!"
I experienced miraculous results after visiting Dr. Rosenfeld.
"My back for no apparent reason was so painful. I couldn't move. After two days in bed a friend recommended I see Dr. Rosenfeld. I could barely drive or sit when I came in. This had happened several times in the past twenty years. A medical doctor had given me muscle relaxers only. They weren't all that helpful but over time and with restricting activities I got better. I experienced miraculous results after visiting Dr. Rosenfeld. I am able to do more than before in movement and strength with no pain, my whole outlook each day is more positive and I feel more energized."
Dr. Rosenfeld is a very loving and generous doctor.
"Dr. Rosenfeld is a very loving and generous doctor. I highly recommend her. She is always studying and learning new ways to help her clients. Dr. Rosenfeld has a very long list of techniques that she can offer to help. Dr. Rosenfeld is high energy and fun and an inspiration. I am grateful that my 19 yo son is her patient since I want him to meet motivated professionals."
It was amazing.
"I first came to Dr. Iris's office in April of 2004. At the time, I was in bad shape. I had recently pulled a neck muscle, was extremely fatigued and could not concentrate on my course work. I suffered from many food allergies and an extreme sensitivity to gluten. Within 3 visits my neck pain was gone. Dr. Iris had recommended certain supplements which helped immensely with my fatigue and concentration. Within a year of starting the allergy treatments, my food allergies vanished, including my gluten problem (which was deemed impossible by other doctors and allergists I have seen) along with a dust allergy. It was amazing."
Dr. Rosenfeld has given me lasting relief from pain
"In 1982 I was catapulted from a motorcycle causing whiplash, neck and low back injuries. Many years of an untreated condition and compression created much pain, discomfort and subluxation. After seeing another chiropractor for 15 years it was time for a change. During those 15 years I had many visits and physical therapy that gave me temporary pain relief and muscle toning and strenuously. Temporary relief. I was referred to Dr. Rosenfeld by Barbara Anderson who is a Rolfing therapist. Dr. Rosenfeld has given me lasting relief from pain and the ability to maintain a longer adjustment much and I have much gratitude and appreciation!"
Since seeing Dr. Rosenfeld, I have had progressive improvement
"I first came into the office in January 2008. I had a chronic issue with burning tightness in the right hip, extending to the middle back. It began about 10 years ago. I believe it was progressively getting worse but started with having a more sedentary job. It was not debilitating, but was annoying most of the time. I had been to my family doctor, an orthopedist, and another chiropractor. With the other chiropractor I had moderate results. The MDs had little to offer and no idea how to help. I found this office via a web search on the internet. Since seeing Dr. Rosenfeld, I have had progressive improvement, but the supplemental therapies have been both helpful and entertaining."
I have my life back!
"I have suffered with sciatica issues my entire life and worsened when I was pregnant. The severity was intense. I saw a general practitioner but had poor results. I found Dr. Rosenfeld through my insurance company and looked her up on the internet. I have had excellent results… I have my life back! Thank you from the bottom of my heart and back!"
I have actually been pain free more days than not and have been sleeping better.
"I had Sciatica and lower back problems with immense pain. I could not sit, stand or lay down without absolute pain. It had been ongoing for the past ten years and I think an old fall down the stairs started it. Basically I would only go to a doctor at the urgent care when it was severe enough. They gave me muscle relaxers and Vicodin. They helped but not for the long term. I was referred to Dr. Rosenfeld by Hilary Arnatt. The results have been amazing! I have actually been pain free more days than not and have been sleeping better. Thank you!"
