The Benefits of Earthing!

Earthing or Grounding, is a new practice being studied by many scientists today and practiced amongst health-minded doctors and people around the world. Earthing or grounding is known as putting direct physical contact of the human body with the surface of the Earth. By simply taking off your shoes and socks, running or walking on the beach or putting your feet on the wet dew of the grass in the morning, you can do wonders for your health. Some of the benefits known to exist are: reduced blood viscosity, improved cardiovascular health, better sleep, reduction of pain, and feeling of well-being.

According to Dr. Joseph Mercola, MD, “Exercising barefoot outdoors is one of the most wonderful, inexpensive and powerful ways of incorporating earthing into your daily life and will also help speed up tissue repair and ease muscle pain due to strenuous exercise.” In fact, many scientists agree that allowing yourself natural exposure to bacteria in the environment is important for your health.

Doctor James Oschman said, “there are places in the world like Germany , Austria and Switzerland where there are whole communities getting up in the morning and going barefoot as a tradition.” Dr. Oschman clarifies further about the benefits of grounding when he said, “If you have your feet on the ground after an injury the electrons will come into your body and spread through your tissues. Any free radicals that leak into the healthy tissue will immediately be neutralized electrically. The electrons are negative, the free radicals are positive, therefore they neutralize each other. So really what is happening with grounding or earthing  is  you’re protecting your body from collateral damage. Damage that was not intended to take place but does take place because we have disconnected ourselves from the earth by putting rubber and plastic on the bottoms of our shoes.”

So, by the act of simply sitting, walking or standing barefoot outside on the ground for a half hour or so you will feel better!  The most effective way is by being barefoot in the sand or wet grass for at least ten minutes a few times per week.  Isn’t it truly amazing how the earth is a natural healing tool that can assist in healing disease?
