DASHING WITH A STRONG IMMUNE SYSTEM

Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough/sneeze, and throw away the tissue.

Wash your hands and lather up for 30 seconds – several times a day.

Use soap or disinfectant spray on doorknobs, telephones, computers, and keyboards.

Don’t touch your face, especially your eyes, nose or mouth.

Get 7-8 hours of sleep per night so your body can rest.

Take a walk outdoors 30-60 minutes a day.

Laughter increases the number and activity of antibodies.

Take 10 deep breaths three times a day.

Take a bubble bath or shower with eucalyptus oil to help you breathe easier. For shower, put on the walls.

Avoid milk, yogurt, cheese, sugar, fried foods as well as foods that give you gas/bloating. Limit alcohol.

Eat more deeply colored fruits/vegetables, nuts, eggs, fish and lean meats.

Drink plenty of water:  slice an orange, lemon, and/or lime in boiling water with honey in a mug.  This also helps banish a cough.

Relieve a raw nose:  snip off a leaf of an aloe plant or use aloe vera gel and dab on your nose

Limit TV watching of doom and gloom.

Relieve symptoms of cold/flu with Inhalation therapy:  take several deep sniffs of tea tree oil in each nostril or pour boiling water in a bowl with tea tree oil, drape a towel around your head, close your eyes and put your face in the bowl and breathe in the steam.

Curb congestion:   Put your feet in a tub of hot water while soaking a pair of cotton socks in ice-cold water.  Take feet out of the tub; put on the cold socks/cover them up with a pair of dry, thick wool socks for 3 hours.

Soothe a sore throat by brewing tea with slippery elm (throat coat tea), drink 4-6 cups.
